WATER

Water is one of the most urgent and overlooked dimensions of the climate crisis: the growing global inequity in access to clean, safe water. From parched villages to flood-ravaged cities, the fight for water is the fight for dignity, survival, and justice.

Right Here, Right Now Water activates a worldwide coalition of artists, academics, policymakers, youth leaders, and humanitarians to demand that water access be recognized and protected as a fundamental human right in the era of climate change.

IMPACT FOCUS:

Right Here, Right Now Water transforms awareness into justice. By aligning global attention with the lived realities of water insecurity—from drought to contamination to displacement—we drive urgent action, policy change, and investment toward water equity for all.

ABOUT RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW WATER

Right Here, Right Now Water is a global initiative that confronts one of the most urgent moral and human rights imperatives of our time: securing universal access to clean, safe water for all people, everywhere. Created in partnership with global partner United Nations Human Rights and founding partner World Vision, this initiative stands at the intersection of climate justice and human dignity, where the right to water is not a privilege of the powerful, but a guarantee for the marginalized.

As climate change accelerates, so too does its grip on the world’s most vulnerable—women and children, the poor, and communities of color—who are disproportionately impacted by water scarcity, contamination, and infrastructure collapse. In the face of drought, displacement, and disease, Right Here, Right Now Water mobilizes a powerful ecosystem of change: from frontline responders and global faith leaders to water technologists, policymakers, and academic institutions.

World Vision, the world’s largest non-governmental provider of clean water, serves as a Founding Partner of RHRN Water. With over 70 years of humanitarian leadership and operations in nearly 100 countries, World Vision brings unmatched expertise, influence, and convening power. Together with Right Here, Right Now’s expansive alliance of global institutions, cultural icons, and climate advocates, World Vision will help convene and catalyze cross-sector action to address the water crisis with urgency and equity.

Right Here, Right Now Water will be featured at the next Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit, held June 14–20, 2027, and hosted by United Nations Human Rights and the University of Oxford, alongside a coalition of co-hosting universities across six continents. As the largest climate justice summit of its kind, this landmark convening will serve as a global platform for RHRN Water to unite the most influential voices across government, science, business, academia, and civil society to confront the escalating water crisis with urgency, innovation, and equity.

ABOUT WORLD VISION

World Vision stands among the most trusted and far-reaching humanitarian organizations in the world—an audacious, faith-driven force for dignity, equity, and hope. With operations in nearly 100 countries and more than 70 years of experience, World Vision delivers life-saving assistance to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, reaching tens of millions of people each year with clean water, nutritious food, healthcare, education, and disaster relief. Its work spans continents and crises—empowering children and families not only to survive, but to build resilient, thriving futures.

As the world’s largest non-governmental provider of clean water, World Vision has brought safe, sustainable drinking water to more people than any other NGO. Between 2016 and 2022 alone, the organization reached more than 25.5 million people in 42 countries—including thousands of schools and healthcare facilities in the hardest-to-reach places—with reliable access to clean water. Backed by a global team of over 1,200 technical water professionals, World Vision designs and implements solar-powered, community-led water systems; builds locally managed sanitation markets; and drives hygiene education as a cornerstone of public health and development.

Looking ahead to 2030, World Vision is advancing an ambitious agenda: to reach 30 million more people with clean water, 35 million with improved hygiene, and 30 million with sanitation services—while upgrading 3,000 healthcare facilities and 10,000 schools to meet essential global standards. These interventions are foundational to child survival, education, gender equity, and long-term economic resilience.

Yet World Vision’s impact extends far beyond infrastructure. Through its Environmental Stewardship Program, the organization is restoring ecosystems, protecting vital watersheds, and helping communities build resilience to climate extremes. In an era of escalating climate disruption, World Vision is not just responding to crisis—it is helping to shape a more just, sustainable future for generations to come.
