Green NFT platform built on energy efficient Tezos blockchain launches initiative to support causes addressing the threat of climate change.

July 7, 2021 -- OneOf, the Green NFT platform built for the music community  backed by music legend Quincy Jones, has been selected as the preferred NFT  partner of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, which works with  global partner United Nations Human Rights to advocate for urgent action to  protect the rights of people around the world suffering from the devastating  effects of climate change.

In support of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and The  Paris Agreement, OneOf will work with Right Here, Right Now Global Climate  Alliance to donate a portion of its platform revenue to United Nations Human  Rights, in support of its global programs on climate change. Right Here, Right  Now Global Climate Alliance, an initiative created by David Clark Cause, is  working with policymakers, NGOs, corporations, academic institutions, scientists,  journalists, and the entertainment community to fast-track advocacy and  awareness-building events, including the Right Here, Right Now Climate Summit  and Awards Concert, which supports United Nations Human Rights programs on  climate change.

Each artist that partners with the OneOf Green NFT platform will also have the  option to design one or more NFTs to directly benefit Right Here, Right Now  Global Climate Alliance and its partner United Nations Human Rights for their  climate programs.

"Building environmentally sustainable technology is a fundamental pillar of the  OneOf company ethos. We’re thrilled to be selected as the preferred partner of  the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance,” said Lin Dai, CEO and Co Founder of OneOf, “built on the Tezos blockchain, OneOf technology uses over 2  million times less energy than Ethereum. Minting an NFT on OneOf takes the  energy equivalent of sending out a tweet, compared to a devastatingly wasteful  use of 3.6 days of average household electricity on most platforms built on  Ethereum.”

"OneOf’s eco-conscious approach and revolutionary technology in blockchain  and NFTs has the power to connect hundreds of millions of music fans globally.  This collaboration provides a unique opportunity for artists and fans alike to  become active participants in fostering human rights and climate change  initiatives by connecting through music, art, and experiences,” said David Clark,  CEO of David Clark Cause and Creator of Right Here, Right Now Global Climate  Alliance, “We are thrilled that OneOf has become the preferred NFT partner of  Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, and it is such an honor to have  the support of Quincy Jones whose creativity, vision, and life-long dedication to  human rights continues to inspire and make a difference.”

Details of OneOf’s industry-shaping Green NFT platform were first revealed last  month, and the announcement was met with a wave of excitement, from Rolling  Stone, Variety, Billboard, Forbes, Los Angeles Business Journal and Uproxx to  Engadget, Bloomberg, and beyond. OneOf's mission is to be the leading  blockchain technology platform committed to environmental sustainability, while  offering crucial solutions for artists and fans eager to explore the exploding world  of NFTs. OneOf has attracted top artists who will soon be releasing NFT  collections on its eco-conscious platform, including Whitney Houston, Doja Cat,  H.E.R., Quincy Jones, John Legend, TLC, Charlie Puth, Jacob Collier, G-Eazy,  AURORA, The Kid LAROI, Alesso and others. OneOf has also announced an  Emerging Artist Spotlight Program, which will champion influential new voices  through financial and marketing commitments. The initial artists in this program  include Laura Mvula, Barbara Doza, Erick The Architect, and more to be  announced soon.

OneOf’s platform will launch to the public this summer, delivering NFTs in the  form of collectible music, art and experiences. Pre-register and learn more at

The Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance has announced Green Day will headline the second Right Here, Right Now Mini Global Climate Concert to be presented by United Nations Human Rights and The Recording Academy at The Fillmore in San Francisco on April 2. The ecologically driven concert aims to combat the human rights crisis resulting from climate change. Proceeds from Right Here, Right Now Mini Global Climate Concerts will go to United Nations Human Rights climate justice initiatives and a dedicated Right Here, Right Now climate fund at MusiCares to help musicians affected by climate change. Wesley Schultz, lead singer and co-founder of the two-time Grammy-nominated band the Lumineers headlined the event last year, with six-time Grammy-nominated artist Yola making an appearance as a special guest. "We are pleased to recognize Green Day and excited for the incredible band to help us launch the international Right Here, Right Now Mini Global Climate Concert Series," said Volker Türk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. "As world-renowned artists and activists, Green Day continues to leverage its major influence and platform to bring awareness to the impact of climate change on the people and the environment." David Clark, founder and CEO of Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, added, "It's a privilege and honor to have Green Day headline the Right Here, Right Now Mini Global Climate Concert in San Francisco. We selected the band, as Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool have been at the forefront promoting social justice initiatives for decades."
